A Post for PostModernSingle

So, word on the street is that a certain blogger turns 30 today — PostModernSingle (PMS, which is pretty clever).

Anyway, this bday can be a big deal to the ladies, so along with the likes of NormalDeviations etc, who also follow the writings of PostModern, and I’d like to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Much of PostModern’s material is derived from her nearly decade relationship with an ex who, unfortunately, was not everything a significant other should be.

Instead of caving in, though, or letting herself be destroyed or defined by the relationship, PostModern uses the experience for personal introspection and development.

This is harder than it sounds — when a  major relationship ends, it can make us question everything about ourselves.  It can make us feel like we’ve wasted a significant proportion of our life and time, and make us hardened against others and the prospect of ever falling in love again.

Not PostModern.  While she recognizes her ex’s flaws, and the flaws of their interactions, she is determined to walk away a better person. This quest, described on her blog, has made others feel like they know her, and can empathize with her relationship questions — signs of great writing.

30 is an age that most women “dread,” but to be honest, I think a woman like PostModern will only be better with age.  She has more to offer the world, and the next lucky man, with every year –

So, Happy Birthday PostModern!! Keep up the great work.
